Anakku Sayang

Anakku Sayang is an 8-part drama series that revolves around three families who are experiencing the challenges of step-parenting and informal parenting. The stories are told from the point of view of an eleven-year-old boy. Through his blog, he expresses his observations, experiences and feelings in facing parental divorce and remarriage.

The drama holds the premise that everyone deserves a second chance in finding love but children can sometimes be casualties of divorce and remarriage. The welfare of children is surfaced as an important consideration in remarriage as they too deserve a second chance of living in a stable, healthy and happy family environment.

An exciting twist to the drama is created in the 8th episode where audiences can vote for their preferred endings through online polling on XinMSN.

The characters and their life struggles in Anakku Sayang are inspired by real-life people experiencing daily challenges in single parent and stepfamily lives.

The drama is produced by DV Studio Pte Ltd and commissioned by MCYS and MDA. The content and script of the drama received guidance and consultation from subject-matter experts at PPIS Vista Sakinah;?Singapore?s only specialised hub for remarriages and stepfamilies.

Anakku Sayang goes on air from 7th April 2012. Tune in to Suria, every Saturday from 8.30 to 9.30pm, to witness how the stories unfold.
