Brazil judge sentences Twitter user

SAO PAULO (AP) ? A federal judge has sentenced a former law student to 17 months in prison for using Twitter to incite prejudice and discrimination against people from Brazil's impoverished northeast.

A court statement says that Judge Monica Camargo converted the sentence against Mayara Petruso to community service and a fine of about $250.

Petruso's 2010 Twitter message urged people to kill northeastern Brazilians in reprisal for Dilma Rousseff's victory in that year's presidential election.

Rousseff enjoyed wide support in the northeast and won a majority of the votes there.

Residents of Brazil's wealthier south often look down on people from the poorer northeast.

The statement says Petruso acknowledged she posted the message because Rousseff won the election.

The court says Petruso can appeal the ruling. Calls to her attorneys went unanswered.

The Essence Of Science Explained In 63 Seconds

Here it is, in a nutshell: The logic of science boiled down to one, essential idea. It comes from Richard Feynman, one of the great scientists of the 20th century, who wrote it on the blackboard during a class at Cornell in 1964.

Think about what he saying. Science is our way of describing ? as best we can ? how the world works. The world, it is presumed, works perfectly well without us. Our thinking about it makes no important difference. It is out there, being the world. We are locked in, busy in our minds. And when our minds make a guess about what's happening out there, if we put our guess to the test, and we don't get the results we expect, as Feynman says, there can be only one conclusion: we're wrong.

The world knows. Our minds guess. In any contest between the two, The World Out There wins. It doesn't matter, Feynman tells the class, "how smart you are, who made the guess, or what his name is, if it disagrees with the experiment, it is wrong."

?

This view is based on an almost sacred belief that the ways of the world are unshakeable, ordered by laws that have no moods, no variance, that what's "Out There" has no mind. And that we, creatures of imagination, colored by our ability to tell stories, to predict, to empathize, to remember ? that we are a separate domain, creatures different from the order around us. We live, full of mind, in a mindless place. The world, says the great poet Wislawa Szymborska, is "inhuman." It doesn't work on hope, or beauty or dreams. It just...is.

View with a Grain of Sand

We call it a grain of sand,
but it calls itself neither grain nor sand.
It does just fine without a name,
whether general, particular,
permanent, passing,
incorrect or apt.

Our glance, our touch mean nothing to it.
It doesn't feel itself seen and touched.
and that it fell on the windowsill
is only our experience, not its.
For it, it is no different from falling on anything else
with no assurance that it has finished falling
or that it is falling still.

The window has a wonderful view of a lake,
but the view doesn't view itself.
It exists in this world,
colorless, shapeless,
soundless, odorless, and painless.

The lake's floor exists floorlessly,
And its shore exists shorelssly.
Its water feels itself neither wet nor dry
and its waves to themselves are neither singular nor plural.
They splash deaf to their own noise
on pebbles neither large nor small.

And all this beneath a sky by nature skyless
in which the sun sets without setting at all
and hides without hiding behind an unminding cloud.
The wind ruffles it, its only reason being
that it blows

A second passes.
A second second.
A third.
But they're three seconds only for us.

Time has passed like a courier with urgent news
but that's just our simile.
The character is invented, his haste is make-believe
his news inhuman.

Pesky Primate Plans Projectile Pitches

60-Second Science60-Second Science | More Science

Santino the chimp collects and conceals rocks to throw at spectators at his zoo in Sweden. Karen Hopkin reports.

More 60-Second Science

How does a Venus flytrap know when to snap shut? Can it actually feel an insect?s tiny, spindly legs? And how do cherry blossoms know when to bloom? Can they...

If you?ve ever spent time watching chimps at the zoo, you?ve probably wondered: what are they thinking? Well, the answer might be simple: could be they?re fixin? to hurl a rock at your head.

One chimp in Sweden actually hides stones and other potential projectiles, and then acts casual before chucking them at visitors?behavior that suggests an unprecedented degree of primate planning and deception. His duplicity is described in the journal Public Library of Science ONE. [Mathias Osvath and Elin Karvonen, Spontaneous Innovation for Future Deception in a Male Chimpanzee]

The chimp, named Santino, had long been known to fling things at annoying onlookers. For years he?s calmly gathered stones and chunks of concrete, stacking them in piles, which he visits when some human particularly irks him.

But lately Santino has gotten more cunning. For one, he?s taken to concealing his arsenal beneath little heaps of hay that he carries out from his enclosure. And his attacks are also more stealthy. Santino used to pitch a fit before pitching a stone. But now he acts all nonchalant, even thoughtfully munching an apple before letting the missiles fly.

The researchers say the data show that chimps are capable of social planning and deception. Unless, of course, that?s just what the chimps want us to think.

Advancements in pet chipping helps reunite pets and families ...

I immediately felt a pang of anxiety. And then one of confusion. Exactly what was I supposed to do with this information? It appeared on my smartphone because I recently got a new puppy and, while Riley was under the ether being spayed, the veterinarian?s assistant recommended inserting a chip for identification purposes.

My previous dog?s identification had consisted of a nylon collar and metal tag; the chip sounded Big Brother-ish, if not unnecessary. But the assistant assured me that ?everyone? does it these days, so that lost or stolen pets can be readily identified if brought to a shelter or veterinarian?s office. A scanning wand would be waved over my golden retriever?s back, her ID number would pop up, and we would be notified of her whereabouts.

Gazing into Riley?s molten brown eyes, the assistant said, ?Wouldn?t you want to be sure that she comes home?? I signed the paperwork immediately.

Unbeknown to me, along with the chip came a year?s free ?premium? membership from?HomeAgain, the largest provider of pet chips in the United States. By registering Riley with HomeAgain, I had unwittingly become one of 850,000 PetRescuers who receive regular electronic alerts about missing animals in their area.

While pet-chip technology has been around for nearly two decades, the industry has recently taken a commercial turn, spawning new ventures, including membership programs and social networking. What was once a simple process ? inject a tiny transponder the size of a grain of rice between a pet?s shoulder blades and pay a one-time registration fee ? has become a big business, with annual charges for benefits ranging from online distribution of customized lost-pet notices to discounted flights for missing pets found hundreds of miles away.

Gary MacPhee, the general manager of HomeAgain, which is a subsidiary of Merck & Company, said, ?We wanted pet owners to belong to our organization and we thought we could add value with our services.?

HomeAgain?s Web site features cautionary tales from pet owners (like the self-recriminating video, ?We Didn?t Even Know Gucci Was Gone,? about a missing miniature schnauzer) and alarming statistics: one out of three dogs and cats will be lost during its lifetime.

According to the?American Humane Association, last year more than seven million dogs and cats went missing; only about 17 percent of lost dogs and 2 percent of lost cats ever find their way back from shelters to their original owners. More than 10 million pets are euthanized every year because their owners can?t be found. HomeAgain?s Web site has a ticker counting pet recoveries tracked to chip technology; as of late April, it clocked 1,016,843 such reunions.

But not all pet owners are sold on chips. Mary Ellen Feeley of Riverside, Conn., agreed to have a chip inserted in her Labrador retriever, Maggie. When she recently added a golden retriever, Dusty, to her household, she opted out. ?I thought the chip was more of a scare tactic when we got Maggie,? she said. ?I have never heard of any of my friends relying on the chip to find their dog. The collar tag, as antiquated as it might be, seems like a reliable methodology.?

Indeed, most recoveries are still done by collar tag, said Tom Sharp, an?American Kennel Club?official. ?It?s more likely that your dog will wind up on your neighbor?s property than in the local animal shelter,? he said. ?But a chip is still the only way to permanently identify your dog as belonging to you.?

Since 1995, the kennel club has offered its own nonprofit chip service,?Companion Animal Recovery. Until 2005, the service had a partnership with HomeAgain, which produced the chips; when that contract expired, the two organizations parted ways. ?They wanted to increase their revenue through annual fees and add-ons, so we split up,? Mr. Sharp said.

Today the kennel-club service charges a one-time fee of $19.95, which enrolls a pet in its database for life (HomeAgain charges $39 for enrollment). Kennel club customers can also pay a one-time fee of $15 for lifetime membership in its lost-pet recovery program, which includes a 24-hour hot line. HomeAgain charges $17.99 a year for its package of benefits; its newest feature is an?iPhone?and?Android?app that lets users upload photos of lost pets and delivers alerts with a bark or meow.

Some pet owners find the alerts distressing, and confess to not opening them or to unsubscribing from them. Others shrug them off. ?I would rather get three e-mails a day about lost pets in my neighborhood than 20 e-mails from stores I rarely shop at,? said Mr. Sharp of the kennel club.

Mr. MacPhee acknowledges that not every HomeAgain customer appreciates such services; after the free first year, about half decline to renew the membership (the registration information remains active in the company?s database). But he anticipates increasing the PetRescuer network to three million people by 2013 ? partly by enrolling people who do not actually own pets. (They can submit their e-mail and ZIP code, and request to be notified about lost pets within a 5-, 10- or 25-mile radius of their home.) ?Early triage is the No. 1 thing that gets pets found,? he said. ?The distribution of information is really what helps find your animal.?

Yet some pet experts think the chips provide a false sense of security. Claudia Devita, a Fairfield County, Conn., breeder, urges clients to understand the system?s limitations. ?There is no quick cure to finding a lost dog, even with a chip,? she said. ?Your dog has to be lucky enough to be returned to a place that has a scanner to check the number on the chip and then a way of contacting you. The only foolproof way to keep your pet safe is with making sure the dog is either walked on a leash or kept inside a yard with a fence.?

Indeed, unreliable or incompatible scanner technology remains a nagging issue for chip providers. A chip is essentially a tiny transponder that uses radio frequency waves to transmit data, including registration and vendor contact information.

Each chip can be activated by a hand-held scanner, but competing companies use different frequencies to send signals. Several chip vendors now produce universal scanners, and give them to animal shelters at low cost or free, but there is no guarantee that a particular chip will be recognized.

?The government has not mandated that all pet organizations acquire universal scanners,? said Mr. Sharp of the American Kennel Club. ?So it?s still possible that a pet?s chip won?t be read properly if he turns up at a shelter.?

As for me, I can?t bring myself to delete or ignore the lost-pet alerts that pop up regularly on my smartphone. The latest one: ?Farrah is missing,? described a 4-year-old female cat, weighing 12 pounds, with a black-and-white tuxedo coat. Her mug shot was adorable, and the online map showed a little green marker with a tiny paw print near my neighborhood. I?m rooting for her safe return.

White House denies arming Syrian rebels

President Barack Obama's administration has repeatedly said over the past few months that it won't ship arms to Syria's outgunned opposition, warning that doing so will only escalate the bloody conflict there. But the Washington Post reported Wednesday that the U.S. has been helping to coordinate shipments of "more and better weapons" to the rebels, with Persian Gulf nations picking up the tab.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland denied that Washington was playing any role in arming the rebels.

"With regard to any assertions with regard to lethal (aid), we are not involved in that," she said at her daily briefing.

"The United States has made a decision to provide nonlethal support to civilian members of the opposition.? This is things like medical equipment.? This is communications, things to help them, first of all, deal with the humanitarian aspects but also to help them to communicate better so that they can plan and be ready for the period of transition that we expect and want to see in Syria," she said.

So is Washington helping to coordinate arms shipments?

"We are obviously consulting with various states about the decisions that we've made, that they've made," Nuland said, declining repeated opportunities to explicitly criticize countries that have opted to help arm the opposition. "This is a loose coordination mechanism."

The Washington Post said that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other gulf states were providing "millions of dollars in funding each month" to arm the opposition.

At the White House, spokesman Jay Carney also seemed to tip-toe right up to the line of confirming that other countries are arming fighters opposed to President Bashar al-Assad.

"We continue to provide nonlethal support to the opposition.? And while I can only speak for the United States, we know that others are pursuing different types of support, and I'd refer you to them to characterize the nature of their actions," he told reporters.

Carney reiterated Obama's support for a ceasefire plan crafted by former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan ? even while acknowledging that the Assad regime has essentially ignored it.

"We continue to be very concerned about the violence in Syria by the failure of the Assad regime to fulfill any of its obligations under the Kofi Annan plan," the spokesman said.

"We've been extremely blunt about the fact that we remain very skeptical of Assad's intentions," Carney said. "We will, when appropriate and as necessary, discuss next steps."

"But we are now supporting the Annan plan, supporting that mission because it has brought about some positive developments, at the very least, a reduction, not an elimination, of violence.? And ... it embodies the best option here for the political transition that Syrians so desperately want," Carney said.

Obama aides say that the deployment of U.N. observers on the ground has helped tamp down violence by Assad's forces.

"If you look at the numbers of reported deaths day by day they are down since the monitors have started patrolling.? Also generally the overall level of violence is down country-wide," an Obama aide told Yahoo News on condition of anonymity.

"Obviously, though, the regime still has a long way to go to be considered in compliance with the Annan plan's six points," the aide said.

Sen. John McCain, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, highlighted the Washington Post article on his Twitter feed, commenting: "As usual, this Administration leads from behind."

McCain has repeatedly called for the administration to arm Syria's rebels.

East Cooper Aamco With Tips On Getting a Car Ready For Summer ...

Mount Pleasant, South Carolina : Many families travel over the summer months to destinations around the country in their automobiles. It is important to family safety and comfort that their cars are in good working condition before leaving.

Get a vehicle inspection. To avoid auto repairs along the route travelers will want to have a complete inspection of their vehicle including the air-conditioning system. It is important to have a trained auto repair technician go over the vehicle and check the engine, exhaust system, battery and the cooling system. To avoid auto repairs all of these systems need to be in peak working order.

Tire Pressure. This is an area that if often overlooked until there is a problem. Under normal conditions, tires will lose up to one pound of pressure per square inch each month. When drivers are putting on a lot of miles in a day on a road trip, this loss will increase. Make sure the car is cool and then use a tire gauge to check the air pressure. It is a good idea to do this once a month. To avoid auto repairs while on vacation, make sure this is part of the inspection that is completed before leaving on a trip.

Tire Tread. While checking the pressure in the tires, check the tread which should be at least 1/16 of an inch in depth. There is great test that can be done with a penny. Insert the penny at several different points in the tire. Make sue that President Lincoln?s head is pointing downward. If the top of the president?s head can be seen, this is a good indication that the tire is word and may require replacement. Don?t stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and a car full of family, so check the tires to avoid these auto repairs.

Check fluid levels. Have an auto repair technician check the fluid levels in the vehicle. This should include the transmission, engine oil, brake fluid, windshield washer, power steering fluids and coolant. Also make sure the vehicle has a full tank of gas before starting a trip.

Use caution when loading the vehicle. With rising gas prices a traveler does not want to overload their vehicle. This will not only increase gas consumption, but also over heat tires and cause excessive wear on tires. In the event there is a need for auto repairs, this will eliminate the need to have a lot of stuff to unpack from the car. This can hard to do with everyone wanting to take their things with them on vacation, but try and cut down as much as possible.

Take an emergency kit. Emergencies will happen no matter how prepared a family is for the trip. Some of the items needed to handle minor car repairs are:

  • Flashlight and batteries
  • A reflector
  • Protective gloves
  • Jumper cables
  • Basic toolkit
  • Flares and matches
  • A blanket
  • Tire pressure gauge
  • Gallon of distilled water
  • Non-perishable food itemsIt is also a good idea to have an auto club membership for those unexpected auto repairs. Make sure there is a fully charged cell phone available. A car charger for a cell phone is a great asset for a long summer trip.

For all that there are a few problems and concerns about commencing or participating in the Prepaid Legal opportunity. I will provide a assessment on the items and cons of this partnership and see if this chance is wonderful or perhaps a scam.
Attraction Marketing Technique
Prepaid Legal Scam Evaluation ? The Constructive

Pre-Paid Legal began together with the CEO and Co-founder, Harland C. Stonecipher. In 1969 he was involved within a car accident that left him with legal bills. Following doing some analysis around the sector of European legal expense plans, he then produced the Pre-paid Legal?s predecessor in August 1972. It started out of as the Sportsman?s Motor Club which was offering legal expense and reimbursement service as a motor service club. In 1983, Pre-paid Legal commencing selling plans by means of network marketing. In 1984, the firm went public around the NASDAQ National Market Method and two many years later moved towards the American Stock Exchange.
Prepaid Legal Scam Assessment Overview Nowadays

These days, the business has more than 1.five million members and is probably the better network marketing businesses about. The firms legal plans are currently being offered by independent associates and may be purchased either by an one-on-one basis or within a group setting as the plans could possibly be offered as an employee advantage. Prepaid Legal Scam Assessment ? The Negative

Prepaid Legal is a network marketing company, which signifies that distributors can create a pipeline and earn revenue off their distribution and hard perform.

Prepaid Legal is among the oldest and most established network marketing firms. Getting over 50 years old, the firm uses the old fashion way of advertising and marketing strategies that worked better 50 many years ago. They encourage folks to work with their ?warm market?, to develop your online business. This means calling leads.
Attraction Marketing and advertising System
Prepaid Legal also teaches their distributors to use the ?3 foot rule?. This can be when any individual 3 feet around you, you will be suppose to talk to them concerning the solutions and chance. This sort of advertising and marketing is not going to function now a days due to the fact it?s going to put you as a desperate salesman or lady who is trying to find quick cash.

Prepaid Legal Scam Critique ? The Ugly

The reality is, somebody could totally make tons of income marketing legal service merchandise ? if they know how to marketplace efficiently. Attempting to build a six-figure income around the backs of pals, household, and work associates is greater than just a difficult sell ? it might be downright irritating, not to mention ineffective. Trying to sell and convince people around the legitimacy of one?s item and opportunity is considerably much less entertaining and considerably much less profitable than talking to people that have currently expressed a direct interest in what you supply.

Prepaid Legal business is rewarding if you know how to industry successfully. It is not a scam, but like any business, good results will likely be determined by the skill-set in the marketer. 'Survivor: One World': How The Women Won

'The guys — they had no unity,' fourth-place finisher Christina Cha tells MTV News of scoring show's first ever all-girl finale.
By Josh Wigler

Kim Spradlin
Photo: MTV News

Kim Spradlin isn't the only "Survivor: One World" winner. OK, technically she is — that cool $1 million is firmly in her bank account — but the season's four finalists can also take comfort in knowing that they made "Survivor" history together: For the first time in 24 seasons, there was not a single man left standing among the final five contestants.

The feat is all the more impressive considering where the women began. At the outset of "One World," the two tribes were separated on gender lines, with the men of Manono showcasing their clear physical advantage with two early immunity wins. It certainly didn't help that the women of Salani were turning on each other, with in-fighting dominating much of their air time in the season's earliest episodes.

Eventually, the women pulled themselves together to stage one of the most impressive comebacks in "Survivor" history, knocking five men out in a row and cutting out the final male — the unforgettable Tarzan — one vote later. So after such a rocky start, how did Salani find the strength to rally together and get rid of the men?

"I think it's because we had a rocky start, I believe that's why we ended up with five women at the end," Kim told MTV News at the "One World" finale on Sunday night. "We had to learn to trust each other. We really had to get each other's backs and become a group."

"There was a day when we all just stood around. We held each other's hands. We were like, 'You know what? We can do this,' " third-place finisher Chelsea Meissner said. "I think it was that first challenge we won against the guys, where they were really ahead of us and we came out of nowhere and won it. We all hugged and it was that moment where we realized, 'We can do this. We can so do this.' "

Christina Cha, who finished the season in fourth place, credited the women's success to the men's willingness to cannibalize each other. "That was what I noticed about the guys — they had no unity," she said. "The guys weren't united from day one."

Another factor, according to runner-up Sabrina Thompson: The men simply were not needed. "You don't need a man in this game to come get [you] fire, to do this or do that," she said. "Once we started winning challenges, we knew we could do this."

In a season dominated by precisely one person, one would think that the plan to get rid of all of the men stemmed from winner Kim. But one of her fellow finalists remembers things differently.

"You know what? I'm going to take credit for this one Kim, OK?" fifth-place finisher Alicia Rosa weighed in, recalling the fall of the men with the same firecracker glee that made her such a memorable competitor all year long. "I [outlined] who the five girls were, from the beginning, and that we were going to wipe [the men] off the island. That, to me, was my biggest dream come true, to do that. I always said that on the island: 'We have to do this. We have to do this. Do not play with those men. It is not going to happen! '"

Not to say that the self-proclaimed mastermind of the men's demise isn't without some regrets.

"I will say I wish Matt had used a little bit more of his Southern charm. Maybe he would've lasted a little bit longer," Alicia laughed. "He was really nice to look at!"

'Dark Knight Rises': How Much Will 'Knightfall' Factor In?

The Weekly Rising takes a closer look at the comic inspiration for Christopher Nolan's final Batman film.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

<i>Batman</i> #497: The breaking of the Bat
Photo: DC Comics

Throughout his tenure as the commander of the big-screen Batman, Christopher Nolan, along with writing partners Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer, have pulled selectively from the vast library of books for inspiration in the films. "Batman Begins" borrowed a handful of elements from Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One," while "The Dark Knight" took some character notes from "The Long Halloween."

When it was announced that Bane would make his triumphant return as a respectable villain in the finale, "The Dark Knight Rises," comic books fans were just as quick to shout "Knightfall," in reference to the trilogy of stories that played out during 1993 and 1994. It appeared Nolan and company had found their inspiration, but what exactly would they use from those books?

Bane
The masked villain was the clear giveaway to "Knightfall" 's presence as an influence, and it's clear why. Bane only showed up on the DC Comics scene four months before the beginning of the "Knightfall" story line, and once the show got on the road, he made his introduction count. As he appears to be in "The Dark Knight Rises," the Bane of the comics was a hyper-intelligent behemoth of a man, capable of besting Bruce Wayne.

Prison Break
Part of Bane's plan in gaining the upper hand over Batman involved releasing all of Arkham Asylum's worst inmates on the city. Batman wears himself down, rounding up the likes of the Joker, the Scarecrow and Poison Ivy, and this series of bouts leaves him severely weakened when he finally has to face off against Bane in the Batcave, leading to the most significant scene from "Knightfall."

The Break
If Bane is remembered for anything, it is the central moment of "Knightfall" when he takes a physically and mentally exhausted Bruce Wayne and breaks his back with a knee to the spine. It was a critical blow in more than one sense of the word and significantly changed the shape of the Batman titles for years to come. The scant footage we have actually seen from "The Dark Knight Rises" hints that Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne does suffer some similar injury during the course of the film. He appears to be walking with a cane, and while we can't conclusively blame Bane, the timing sure is something!

Catwoman
Selina Kyle's appearance in both "Knightfall" and "The Dark Knight Rises" most likely is a coincidence, since her role in the former is not terribly significant. It does matter, however, that she attempts to help Bruce Wayne with his paralysis, demonstrating that there are many facets to her allegiances.

The New Batman
While Bruce Wayne was on the mend thanks to Bane's handiwork, a new Batman, Jean-Paul Valley, took up the cowl in his absence. Since the tag line of "The Dark Knight Rises" leaves little doubt that the "legend ends" with this final movie, fans have been pondering whether the new film will mean the death of Bruce Wayne. If that's the case, the symbol would have to live on. A new Dark Knight would have to rise.

Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."

It's a Girl for Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky!

Chris Hemsworth may be a key part of the biggest movie on the planet, but his wife truly gave him a reason to celebrate yesterday in London: she gave birth to a baby girl!

Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth

Multiple sources confirm that Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky welcomed their first child together yesterday afternoon, a daughter named India.

Said Pataky in January, not long after going public with the announcement of her pregnancy:

"Having the person that you love by your side, and starting a family with them, is the best thing that can happen to you in this life. You can't ask for more."

By the hammer of Thor, she's right. We send our very best to this new and growing family!

John Travolta Scandal: First Accuser Admits Wrong Date, Hotel Video Key to Second Masseur's Claims

The masseur suing John Travolta for sexual battery in a Beverly Hills hotel is admitting a major hole in his shocking story - that the date he claimed the actor groped his crotch - January 16 of this year - is wrong.

John Doe #1 still maintains the attack happened, however.

Travolta’s lawyer has insisted from the beginning that he was in New York City during the alleged massage gone awry, proving it with flight records.

The anonymous accuser's account of the incident remains the same, however, but in a significant development, he now says it took place earlier.

“It was a miscalculation,” one source claims about him claiming the wrong date. "The lawsuit will likely be amended, but it doesn't change the facts.”

Meanwhile, the Atlanta resort hotel where John Travolta stayed at when he allegedly sexually assaulted a second masseur has been put on notice.

The hotel is preserving its surveillance video as evidence in the lawsuit filed by the man, also unidentified and also seeking $2 million in damages.

"The hotel has been notified by the masseur's attorney to preserve the surveillance video of the time when Travolta stayed there," a source said.

"The surveillance video will be crucial evidence in the case because it shows Travolta going to the spa the next day after it is claimed the incident occurred, looking for the masseur, because he wanted to see him again."

"This is all detailed in the lawsuit. Travolta was told the masseur wasn't available and he left. The masseur was extremely upset when he left Travolta's room, which would have been captured on the camera in the hall as well."

"The hotel has indicated that they will preserve all evidence in the case, including the surveillance video, and all electronic communication regarding Travolta. They are standing by the masseur," the insider says.

Management of the hotel have met with staff and placed them on a strict no-press lockdown on the subject, with the threat of losing their job.

According to the lawsuit filed by the masseur in Atlanta:

"Travolta suddenly turned on his stomach with his legs wide open with a full erection. He then tried to force Doe Plaintiff #2's hand on Travolta's scrotum."

"Then, Travolta started to grab, rub and caress Doe Plaintiff No. 2's upper thighs and buttocks."

"Travolta still had an erection and wanted his abdominals done but Travolta's erection was in the way and he refused to have his penis covered by a sheet of a pillow case cover."

"Travolta started masturbating about 15 minutes left in the session, and Doe Plaintiff #2 said he had to go."

A third accuser, identified as Fabian Zanzi, has also come forward, saying Travolta sexually harassed and propositioned him on a cruise ship.

Pebble ties itself up in Twine: sounds so rustic, couldn't be any less (video)

Take an e-ink e-paper smartwatch that's got plenty of willing customers, throw in a WiFi-connected sensor box and well, imagine the possibilities. The founders behind Pebble and Twine hope you are, because they have announced that the pair will be connectable through the latter's web-based interface. This means you'll be able to setup text notifications to your wrist when your laundry's done, when someone's at your door and plenty more mundane real-world tasks. A brief video explains how it should all go down, but try not to get too excited -- pre-orders are sadly sold out.
